The Best Gas Weed Burner in Australia
The Best Gas Weed Burner in Australia
An Honest, No-Nonsense Comparison
G'day, I'm the bloke behind Curly's Ag. We make and sell weed burners — so you'd be right to raise an eyebrow at a "best of" page from us. This one's different: we've listed our competitors' actual prices and specs, been honest about where our own gear falls short, and there are at least two burners on this list we'd genuinely tell you to buy instead of ours, depending on your situation.
We started out growing food for our own family, and got into weed burners the same way most of our customers do: sick of spraying poison around the place. If you've recently moved onto a few acres, you've got animals wandering about, and you're done with the glyphosate drum in the shed — this guide's for you.

What to Actually Look For
1. Be sceptical of BTU numbers
1 MJ ≈ 948 BTU. Published figures are peak output at full gas flow, measured differently by every brand — treat them as a rough guide, and be more suspicious of brands that publish none at all.
2. LPG bottle beats butane canister
A 9kg LPG bottle refill (~$25–30) runs for hours. Butane canisters ($15–20) are gone in under an hour and lose pressure as they cool.
3. Weight matters more than it looks
The gap between 0.9kg and 2.3kg is the difference between finishing the fence line and finding an excuse to stop halfway.
4. Check what the warranty actually covers
Some brands cover the burner but not the hose. Some publish no warranty at all. Ask what's covered before you buy.
5. Safety is not optional
Never burn during a fire ban or on a windy day. Keep water or an extinguisher within reach, wear closed boots, and avoid tinder-dry standing grass.
So Which One Should You Actually Buy?
Grab a $30 import or the Tradeflame from Bunnings. Genuinely — don't spend $349.
The Harris Perkeo at $499 with its 7-year warranty is the right tool.
The COBRA at $220 is hard to argue with.
That's the job we built the Weed Wand PRO for — Australian made, 304 stainless, 0.9kg in the hand, 600,000 BTU, 4m hose, 5-year warranty backed locally. $349, and 32 people have rated it 4.8/5.
If you're somewhere in between, send us a message and tell us what your place looks like — we'll tell you honestly if you'd be better off with something cheaper, including something that isn't ours.
